We may also collect certain technical and usage information when you visit our website, such as browser type, device type, IP address, pages visited, referring pages and general information about how the website is used.

If you become a Fizel customer, additional information may be required in connection with payment services, account setup, underwriting, compliance and ongoing support. The collection and handling of that information may also be governed by applicable merchant agreements, service-provider terms and other documentation.

How we use information

We may use personal information to:

• respond to enquiries and quote requests;
• understand your business and payment requirements;
• communicate with you about Fizel products and services;
• facilitate applications, account setup and payment services;
• support customers and administer our business relationships;
• meet legal, regulatory, compliance and underwriting requirements;
• maintain, secure and improve our website and services; and
• analyze website usage and the effectiveness of our marketing.

We do not sell personal information.

How we share information

We may disclose information to service providers and business partners where reasonably necessary to operate our business or provide requested services.

This may include established banking, payment processing, technology, hosting, analytics, communications, customer-management and professional-service providers.

We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law, to comply with legal or regulatory obligations, to protect our rights or the rights of others, or in connection with a corporate transaction.

We do not disclose personal information to third parties for purposes unrelated to our business without an appropriate basis for doing so.

Payment statement uploads and automated analysis

If you use the statement analysis tool on our website, you may submit your contact and business information together with one uploaded payment processing statement. We ask that you not upload documents containing full card numbers, bank account numbers or other cardholder data.

The statement is stored privately and is not published or made publicly accessible. Automated document extraction and classification reads transaction totals, volumes, rates and fees from the document. Those extracted figures are used by deterministic Fizel software to calculate KPIs, observations, confidence and limitation labels, and an estimated comparison against Fizel pricing.

The analysis is delivered to you on a private, unguessable results page that is not indexed by search engines, and a copy of the analysis summary plus your contact details is sent to Fizel at info@fizel.com so a member of our team can review it and respond if you ask us to. The private results page is accessed through an expiring review link. The link is unguessable and the page is marked noindex, but it is not password protected, so anyone with the link can view it while it remains active. Links expire after approximately seven days.

Uploaded statements and the associated analysis records are deleted approximately 90 days after submission, unless a longer period is required for an ongoing requested business relationship or by law. You may ask us to delete an upload sooner by contacting us.

Submitting a statement authorizes Fizel to use the information for the requested analysis, to respond to your request and to prepare or follow up on a requested Fizel comparison or quote. It does not by itself subscribe you to unrelated promotional marketing. Transactional follow-up about your analysis or quote is separate from marketing consent.

The tool uses private hosting and storage, automated document processing, transactional email and necessary infrastructure providers. Those providers may process or store information in Canada, the United States or other jurisdictions.

Payment and merchant information

Fizel works with established banking, processing, payment and technology partners in providing payment solutions.

Information submitted in connection with a merchant application or payment service may therefore need to be provided to applicable service providers for purposes such as underwriting, identity and business verification, compliance, account setup, processing and ongoing service.

Those organizations may process information under their own agreements, legal obligations and privacy practices.

Cookies and website analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies for essential website functionality, security, analytics and to help us understand how visitors use the site.

Depending on the technologies in use, you may be able to manage cookies through your browser or device settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.

Data retention

Cross-border processing

Fizel operates in Canada and the United States and may use service providers located in Canada, the United States or other jurisdictions.

As a result, personal information may be processed or stored outside the jurisdiction where it was originally collected and may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed.

Children

Fizel's services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this website.
