Estimate Your Fizel Processing Costs

Enter a few basic figures to estimate Fizel’s processing markup using our published interchange-plus pricing. No statement or contact information is required.

The result covers the Fizel markup only. Interchange and card-network costs are passed through separately and are not included. Rates come from the published pricing table.

Sales period

Highly seasonal businesses may get a more representative estimate by entering annual card sales.

We use this to estimate the number of transactions and the per-transaction portion of the Fizel markup.

Payment-channel mix

Share of card sales by channel. The two always add up to 100%.

Simplifying assumption: one average transaction size is used for both channels.

How this estimate was calculated

Annualized card sales: $480,000 ($40,000 × 12), which falls in the $300,000 to $600,000 tier.

Estimated transactions: $40,000.00 ÷ $85.00 = 470.6

In-person: $20,000.00 × 0.33% + 235.3 transactions × $0.06 = $80.12

Online or keyed: $20,000.00 × 0.43% + 235.3 transactions × $0.18 = $128.35

Total per month: $80.12 + $128.35 = $208.47. Effective markup: $208.47 ÷ $40,000.00 = 0.521%.

This is an estimate of Fizel’s processing markup, not your complete processing cost. Interchange, card-network fees, hardware, software, taxes and other applicable charges are not included. Final pricing and solution availability are confirmed in writing.

What the estimate includes

The Fizel markup on your card sales: a percentage of sales plus a per-transaction amount, taken from the published tier that matches your annual volume, split between in-person and online or keyed payments.

What it leaves out

Interchange and card-network fees, which are passed through at cost. Also terminals, point-of-sale and software, taxes, and any other charges that depend on how your operation is set up.

Why transaction size matters

Each sale carries a fixed per-transaction amount. A bike shop selling $2,000 builds pays that amount far less often per dollar than a rental counter running $30 day passes, so smaller tickets raise the effective markup.

Seasonal businesses

A July month at a marina or a February month at a ski shop says little about the year. Entering annual card sales puts you in the tier your full year earns and gives a steadier monthly average.

Questions

Is this my total processing cost?
No. The calculator estimates the Fizel markup only. Interchange and card-network fees are passed through at cost and vary with card type, how the card is accepted and other factors, so they are not included.
Is the result a quote?
No. It applies the published rate table to the figures you enter. Final pricing and solution availability are confirmed in writing after Fizel reviews your business.
Why does my volume show no published rate?
Published tiers start at $150,000 in annual card sales. Below that, request a quote. Above $10 million a year, pricing is custom.
Do I need to give my name or email?
No. Results appear as you type, and nothing you enter is sent to Fizel.
Which currency does it use?
The same one you enter. The calculator does not convert between Canadian and US dollars.
