Campgrounds & RV Parks

Payment Processing for
Campgrounds & RV Parks

A campground is rarely one business. Nightly reservations, seasonal sites, cabins, deposits, the camp store and activity fees all collect money in different ways, often within the same afternoon.

Fizel brings modern payment processing into that environment: online, at the front desk and anywhere across the property.

How campgrounds actually operate

One property. Half a dozen ways money comes in.

Most payment setups assume a single counter and a single kind of sale. A campground runs several revenue streams at once, on different timelines, with a small team covering all of them.

Nightly reservations

Booked weeks ahead, often paid in two pieces: a deposit to hold the site and a balance on arrival.

Seasonal site fees

Long-term guests on contracts that need to be billed on a schedule instead of collected at the counter.

Cabins & accommodations

Higher-value stays with their own deposit, damage hold and cancellation realities.

Camp store

Firewood, ice, propane and last-minute gear: small tickets, high volume, all weekend long.

Rentals

Kayaks, bikes, golf carts and equipment that go out with a hold and come back needing a release.

Activities & extras

Guided outings, dump-station fees, extra vehicles, firewood delivery and late check-outs.

Fizel works across the whole outdoor economy. See how campgrounds fit within Campgrounds & Accommodations. Properties built around bookable tents, domes, yurts, treehouses and cabins with activities and guest add-ons are covered on our glamping resorts page.

One stay, start to finish

Arrival to departure.

A reservation is not one transaction, it is a sequence, and each step happens somewhere different on the property.

Before arrival

The booking lands at midnight.

A guest books a site three states away, often after the office has closed. A deposit online holds the spot; the balance follows on arrival, without anyone having to be at a desk to take it.

At the gate

Check-in, on foot or on the porch.

Balances, upgrades and walk-up sites move through the front desk terminal, while mobile acceptance covers the gate, the porch, or wherever the queue actually forms on a Saturday.

During the stay

Firewood, rentals, a second night.

The camp store, rental gear and activity add-ons keep taking small payments all weekend, fast enough that they never become the reason for a line at the register.

On departure

A hold released, a season remembered.

Damage holds are released, seasonal accounts are squared, and the site is ready to turn over before the next arrival pulls in that afternoon.

Reservations and deposits

A site is held long before anyone arrives to fill it.

A reservation is a promise made weeks in advance, and a deposit is what makes it real on both sides: the guest secures the site, and the property secures the booking against a last-minute cancellation.

Pre-authorizations and deposits can be taken online at the time of booking, with the balance collected automatically or at check-in, and holds released cleanly once the stay ends.

Behind every online booking is still a card pinned to a board, the reservation made real for the week ahead.

This is what the reservation was actually for. Payments should stay out of the way of it.

Accept payments across the property

Wherever the guest happens to be standing.

From the booking that arrives at midnight to the bundle of firewood sold on the way out, payments should work the same way everywhere on the property.

Keep the systems that work

We start with the reservation system you already run.

Most campgrounds have already built their season around something: a reservation system, a property management tool, an accounting workflow, a spreadsheet refined over a decade. Replacing that in April is nobody's idea of a plan.

See the platforms Fizel works with for a sense of the ecommerce, POS, accounting and business systems payments can connect to.

So we start with where payments actually touch your property: what takes bookings, what runs the store, what your bookkeeper needs at month end, and work out how payments fit into that rather than rebuilding it around us.

Fizel's integration capability spans the reservation, property management, point-of-sale and accounting systems campgrounds already run. We confirm the specific fit with you, so payments plug into your existing setup rather than replacing it.

Seasonal business

When the season hits, payments matter.

For many campgrounds, a large share of annual volume lands in a compressed stretch between May and September. In those weeks a terminal that stalls on a Saturday check-in queue costs more than a slow afternoon in November ever could.

Busy campground midday with occupied RV sites, bikes and guests walking toward the camp store
  • Reliability when it counts

Acceptance that behaves the same on a full long weekend as it does midweek.

  • Support that knows the queue

Knowledgeable payments people who understand what a full long-weekend check-in line actually looks like, not a generic help desk.

  • Cash-flow visibility

Clear reporting on what was taken and what's been deposited.

  • Simple for seasonal staff

Workflows a new hire can learn on their first shift, because in June they usually have to.

Field note

The families who book the same week every year.

Ask a campground host to name their regulars and they will not reach for a spreadsheet, they will tell you which site the same family takes the third week of July, and how the kids have grown two feet since the first summer they came.

A host's real job runs on relationships built one returning reservation at a time: remembering who likes the site by the water, who always asks about firewood delivery, who needs the accessible loop. None of that shows up on an invoice, but it is the reason the booking gets made again next July instead of somewhere else.

How Fizel fits

Front desk
Terminals for arrivals, late check-ins, firewood and store purchases.
Reservations
Take site bookings and deposits online months before the gate opens.
Seasonal sites
Recurring and scheduled payments bill seasonal and annual sites instead of chasing them.
Around the property
Mobile acceptance for staff working the loop, the store or the boat launch.

Pricing

Pricing quoted on how your campground actually takes payments.

Campground pricing depends on how you take payments: the mix of online deposits, front-desk cards and camp-store sales all matter. A rate that fits most properties rarely fits yours, so we quote on your actual volume and card mix. Funds settle generally next business day, so a busy peak-season weekend turns into working capital fast instead of sitting in transit. Fizel is month-to-month with no locked-in contracts, so a seasonal operation isn't carrying a payments agreement through a winter it isn't using.

Questions

Campground payments, answered.

Yes. Fizel supports online payments for reservations and deposits alongside in-person acceptance at the front desk, the camp store and anywhere on the property with a mobile device.

Can I take deposits on reservations?

Yes. Deposits and pre-authorizations are supported, so you can hold a site or cover a rental and settle the balance later.

Can I collect seasonal or recurring payments?

Yes. Seasonal sites, storage and payment plans can be billed on a recurring schedule rather than collected manually each cycle.

Can staff take payments away from the office?

Yes. Mobile acceptance lets staff take a card payment at the gate, at a site or wherever the guest is, without sending them back to the counter.

Can Fizel support more than one campground?

Yes. Multi-location setups are supported, with reporting across properties so you can see each location separately and together.
